Our pet food pantry, based out of our Newington shelter, provides free quality pet food for people in financial need who are struggling to feed their pets. Our goal is to help keep pets in their homes and out of shelters.

History
Our pet food pantry was first opened in November, 2010, in response to the weakened economy. We initially collected 5 tons of dry pet food, over 4,000 cans of canned food, and over 500 boxes of dog and cat treats. Despite the large volume of donations, all of the food was quickly dispensed. We are currently supplying food for hundreds of dogs and cats each month, and the need for donations continues to grow.

How You Can Help

Arrange a Collection Drive: Individuals are needed to arrange food collections at their place of business, school, place of worship, at a local business, or in their community. Download our Pet Food Drive Starter Kit pdf to get started.

Donate Food: We are seeking unopened, unexpired donations of food for companion pets. View our list of drop-off locations below.  Visit our Wish List for a complete list of the type of food we are seeking.

 2011 August Pet Food Distribution

Make a Monetary Contribution: Your monetary donation will allow us to supplement the food donations we receive. Your donation of $30.00 will help keep one dog or three cats in their home for one month. Click here to make a secure donation online to our pet food pantry fund.
