The information we collect and how it is used:
Our registration forms require users to give us contact information that may include name, email address, format preference (HTML vs. Text), address, interests, and similar information. Other forms like the Volunteer Application will request additional information such as educational background and professional experience. The Connecticut Humane Society will not share this contact information with any other parties without the express permission of the constituent. Online donors must fill in credit card information or link the gift to their PayPal account. We do not have full access to that information in order to protect the donor’s security. Gifts are tax deductible to the full extent of the law, and will be acknowledged with a tax receipt as a record of the donation. Electronic gifts are acknowledged via email. Gifts made in person at a shelter are acknowledged at the time of donation. Paper checks and other donations are acknowledged via US Postal Service. Additional gift verification is obtainable via email at firstname.lastname@example.org CHS does not sell, trade or share donors’ names, physical addresses, mailing addresses, telephone numbers or electronic contact information with anyone, nor does it send mailings on behalf of other organizations.
To opt out of electronic, phone or mail communications, donors, friends or contacts should email the organization at email@example.com and specifically request to be removed from email, phone and/or physical mailing lists and provide the contact information on record. Constituents who follow CHS in social media are solely responsible from discontinuing e-relationships by un-liking or un-following as required by each social media site.
