One in three pets goes missing during its lifetime. Statistics show that only 14% of lost dogs and 4% of lost cats are reunited with their families. A microchip is another method of ID, links your pet back to you, and increases your chances of reuniting with your pet if it is lost. A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and is inserted between your pet's shoulder blades with an injection. Because there is very little pain, no anesthesia is required. Veterinary hospitals, shelters and animal control are now all equipped with scanners that can read for chips should your pet be lost.
We provide microchips from HomeAgain. The fee includes automatic registration of your pet in the HomeAgain national database. After registration, you may complete your pet's profile, upload a photo, enter medical information and add an alternate contact - all online. Once your pet is registered, it will have a lifetime membership. Additional benefits such as 24/7 Lost Pet Specialists, Rapid Lost Pet Alerts, and many more are available/renewable on an annual basis. Read a personal staff story.
