The Connecticut Humane Society has volunteer opportunities available for corporate and other service groups seeking special projects to benefit our organization. Projects typically include special events, programs and shelter landscaping/maintenance projects.
For safety reasons, working with the animals requires specialized training and is not available for group volunteer initiatives. We have a dedicated team of regular volunteers that work with the pets. If you would like to become a member of the volunteer program, learn about the current volunteer needs and apply for the position that best matches your interest and skills.
CURRENT GROUP VOLUNTEER NEEDS:
Pet Food Collectors:
We need volunteers to collect donations of pet food for our pet food pantry. This program benefits members of the community who are struggling to feed their pets. Volunteers will be asked to arrange a collection drive at their workplace, school, church, neighborhood, or at a local business. CHS will provide collection bins, signage, and flyers. Visit our Pet Food Pantry page for more information about arranging a collection drive or contact Melissa Zaluski at 860-594-4500 x6203.
Corporate volunteers and group volunteers are encouraged to arrange a third party fundraiser or supply collection to benefit the shelter animals. Visit the Wish List for a list of supplies that we currently need. For details on how to organize and conduct a successful fundraising event, visit our third-party fundraising page.
