Pet Food Pantry

Feed the family or feed the family pet? Visit the doctor or provide food to the beloved pet?

The pet food pantry provides free, quality pet food for owners who are struggling to feed their pets due to financial difficulty. The goal is to keep pets in their current, loving homes and temporarily reduce the monetary burden of pet ownership. In order to receive free pet food for a designated amount of time, please submit a completed application along with additional documentation. 

* The food pantry is available to people served by all three district locations.*

Please follow the instructions below to apply for the Pet Food Pantry.

In order to process your application, you must submit all of the following:

  1. A completed application. A completed application.
  2. Proof of need in one of the following forms:
    • Proof of Disability, Social Security Benefits, SNAP, Unemployment Benefits or Medicaid dated for 2018.
    • Proof of foreclosure
    • Proof of income for all adult household members
  3. Proof of current and legally valid rabies vaccination (all cats and dogs must be vaccinated per state law even if they are indoor only).

Upon receiving these documents, your application will be reviewed. You will receive notification in approximately 2-3 weeks. Please note that incomplete applications will take longer to process. If you have any questions, please contact the Pet Food Pantry by email: or by calling 860-594-4500.
