Federal Worker Pet Food Pantry
Federal workers affected by the government shut-down can find a helping hand for their pets at the Connecticut Humane Society’s Pet Food Pantry. CHS will be distributing free food for cats, dogs and small critters across the state.
If you are a federal employee who is furloughed or working without pay, click here to sign up for the Pet Food Pantry. Food pick-up will then be on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at CHS’ Newington location, 701 Russell Road.
Want to get involved and fill food bowls? Make a donation toward food here, or bring a donation of pet food to CHS Newington on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
As federal employees face tough financial dilemmas during this period, they shouldn’t have to worry about their ability to feed their pets as well. Together, we can give these pets the support they need right now so their food bowls won’t go empty and they can stay in their homes.
