SB 445 An Act Concerning Certain Recommendations Of the Task Force On The Sale Of Cats And Dogs From Inhumane Origins At Connectict Pet Shops. (public act 14-77)
This initiative was the result of collaboration by animal advocates across the state which began with a task force that convened in the fall of 2013. This legislation received support from CHS, passed the legislature and was signed by the Governor on June 3, 2014.
Amongst other sections in the legislation, PA 14-77 does the following to ensure companion animals in Connecticut are not originating from facilities that breed and transport animals inhumanely:

SB 309 An Act Concerning Municipal Costs For The Care Of Confiscated Animals (Public Act 14-205)
This bill is an extremely important piece of legislation that was strongly supported by CHS, passed the legislature and was signed by the Governor on June 13, 2014.

The Connecticut Humane Society has 133 years of experience in animal welfare and sheltering. In 2013 alone, the Connecticut Humane Society received 675 pets from animal control partners which were placed into our adoption program. In order to continue to provide the proper care and support of our beloved animals please give us the resources to do so.
