Love Squared

Lovable Mindy and her baby Munchie arrived at our shelter in January. They had to be surrendered because their owner was being evicted.  Understandably, it was a gut wrenching separation for everyone involved.

Besides the sadness of losing their home and their human mommy, Mindy and Munchie needed medical treatment, most notably for bad teeth and injuries to their toes.  After accepting the two disoriented dogs, they had to be eased into shelter life. Our medical team gently fixed their health issues and their dental problems and volunteers spent extra time socializing Mindy and Munchie.

Sometimes, animals can understandably be very suspicious of new things and new surroundings. With the right amount of patience, understanding and a big dose of compassion; most are able to overcome shyness as they learn how to trust again. This was certainly the case with Mindy and Munchie. They quickly began to thrive in their new environment.

Within a week, they were ready for new homes. Of course there was a lot of interest in these sweet dogs! They were little, bouncy and full of love and hope.

While this kind of story happens often at CHS, we know each animal is special. We also know that because of you, animals like Mindy and Munchie can regain their health AND new homes.

Thank you for being part of the solution to saving pets’ lives!
