Pets Announce MVPs of Bracket Challenge

The pets drafted supporters to their team for the Brackets for Good fundraising tournament in March and went galloping down the virtual basketball court with $1,554 in donations.

Though the critters didn’t win their match-up and saw their road to the championship end after one week in the competition, their fans still made the challenge a slam dunk! All funds raised came directly to the Connecticut Humane Society for care and lifesaving medical treatment of homeless animals.

CHS competed in Brackets for Good—the charity world’s version of NCAA college basketball tournament brackets—with 59 other nonprofits in the Hartford area. Only a select number of nonprofits who received the most donations continued moving on to additional rounds.

The best part was, 100 percent of every donation that you—the pets’ cheerleaders—gave through the challenge went right to the animals, even though CHS didn’t advance to the next bracket. And filling out donor profiles and posting about the tournament on your social media accounts also gave the pets a boost on the scoreboard.

So, it’s time for a high-paw…er, high-five! You gave care to even more animals and proved once again you’re their MVP.
